The Bible App checked me Friday morning.
After a week full of adulting—navigating back-to-school chaos, family stuff, work deadlines, caregiving duties, and then the news of yet another tragic school shooting—the verse of the day woke me right up:
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
That reminder hit me right where I was.
I’ve been moving fast. Making plans. Trying to figure things out on my own. Putting out fires without pausing to ask God for direction. Not on purpose, but I wasn’t letting the Lord guide my doings.
And here’s the truth: too often we make plans, set things in motion, and only afterward ask God to “bless it.” But by then, we’ve already taken control, leaving Him with the role of “plan reviewer” instead of the One in charge.
Doing Life With Him, Not Just for Him
There’s a big difference between living for God and living with God. One can still be self-led. The other keeps Him in the driver’s seat.
When we submit our plans first, we give God the respect of authoring our work, not just editing it after we’ve written the draft.
Reframe Your Day
Instead of charging ahead, I’m learning to stop and ask:

God, what do You want me to do?

How do You want this to look?

How should I respond to this person/situation?
Then comes the hardest part: listen. Wait. Seek Him. And then move.
The Reset
Don’t rush to set your plans in motion and then ask God to sprinkle blessing on top. Instead:

Put Him first.

Submit your work into His hands.

Watch Him establish your steps.
Because when God is in charge of your plans, you don’t just hustle, you move in alignment.
